Tradie website companies in New Zealand, compared honestly

We're one of the companies on this page, so read it with that in mind. What we've done to earn your trust anyway is stick to what each company publishes on its own site, date it, and say plainly where someone else is the better call.

Last updated: Sat Aug 08 2026 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)

How we did this. Every figure below comes from the company's own public website, checked in August 2026. Where a company doesn't publish something, we've written "not stated" rather than guessing. We had some of these details wrong on our own homepage until August 2026 and corrected them — the details are on our statistics page. If we've misrepresented your company, email us and we'll fix it.

Prices exclude GST where the company's site states so. Ours is GST-inclusive. Ongoing hosting is separate for most providers — Ahoy Studio, for example, publishes hosting at NZ$450 + GST per year paid to Rocketspark, plus NZ$35 + GST for the domain.

Who each one actually suits

Ahoy Studio

A design-led studio with genuinely good-looking work, building on the Rocketspark platform. Copywriting and Google setup are included, and the price is published openly — which is rarer than it should be in this industry.

Best for: a tradie who cares about design quality and wants a small, sharp three-page site. Worth knowing: at NZ$3,395 + GST for three pages it's the highest published per-page price here, and hosting is an additional annual cost paid to a third party.

Trades Online

The most complete published pricing structure of anyone in this space — three tiers, clear page counts, honest about the range. Copywriting and SEO are included across packages, and they're upfront that final pricing depends on scope.

Best for: a tradie who wants tiers to choose between, or who needs more than five pages and expects to grow into a bigger site. Worth knowing: 4–6 weeks is a longer build than some, and the ranges are wide enough that you'll need a conversation to land on a number.

Tradie Design

A broader creative outfit doing website design alongside branding, print and advertising — so a good option if you want your signage, vehicle livery and website to match.

Best for: a tradie who wants branding and website handled together by one shop. Worth knowing: nothing is published on price, turnaround or inclusions, so you'll need to ring to find out. That's a normal way to run an agency, but it does make comparison harder.

WFT — us

Flat NZ$1,997, five or more pages, live in 7 working days, copywriting and local SEO included, and the only enquiry guarantee we're aware of in this market: no genuine job enquiry within 90 days and we rebuild it free.

Best for: a tradie who wants it done fast, at a known price, with someone carrying part of the risk. Worth knowing, honestly:

What actually separates these companies

Strip out the marketing and there are four real variables:

  1. Is copywriting included? Every specialist here includes it. General web designers frequently don't, and it's the biggest hidden cost — NZ$800–$1,500 bought separately.
  2. Is local SEO setup included? Again, the specialists include it. Ask a generalist directly, and get the add-on price before comparing.
  3. How fast? Between one and six weeks across this table. Whether that matters depends entirely on you.
  4. Does anyone carry risk? This is the one where the market is uniformly silent. Almost nobody in New Zealand web design offers anything if the site doesn't produce work.

Questions to ask whoever you choose

That last one is worth asking everywhere, including us. Most answers will be some version of "nothing" — which is standard, and worth knowing before you sign rather than after.

A note on the Australian namesake

There's an unrelated Australian business operating as "Websites For Tradies" at a .net.au address. No connection to us. We're the New Zealand one, at websitesfortradies.co.nz, and we only build for New Zealand trade businesses.
