ABOUT
You're about to hand your business's front door to someone you found on the internet. Fair enough to want to know who that is.

I'm not a web designer. I'm an operator. My background is multi-site retail and hospitality — McDonald's, Mitre 10, Z Energy — and I founded and ran Wilson Barbecue.
That matters more than it sounds. Those are all businesses that live or die on one thing: whether the person standing in front of you decides to buy. Not on design awards. Not on brand decks. On whether the offer is clear, the trust is there, and the next step is obvious.
That's the same problem your website has to solve. It's why I built WFT the way I did.
Most web agencies will build anything for anyone. A café this week, a law firm the next, a plumber after that. Every project starts from scratch, which is why they take six weeks and cost five grand.
I only build for trades. That means I already know what a sparkie's customer types into Google at 8pm with no power, why a builder's enquiry form needs different fields to a drainlayer's, and which suburb pages actually pull work rather than just existing.
Narrow is what makes fast and cheap possible without cutting corners. It's also what makes the guarantee possible — you can only underwrite a risk you can calculate.
Because a promise that costs nothing to make is worth nothing.
Every agency in the country says they'll get you results. None of them put anything behind it. I'll rebuild your site free if it doesn't produce a genuine job enquiry in 90 days, and credit you NZ$200 if I miss the 7 working days deadline. Both sets of conditions are published in full, because a guarantee with hidden fine print is marketing, not a guarantee.
WFT launched recently. There are no five-star testimonials on this site because I haven't earned them yet, and inventing them would insult the intelligence of exactly the people I want to work with — tradies have seen every kind of dodgy operator and can smell one at range.
So instead of fake proof, I'm stacking the deal in favour of the first ten clients: NZ$300 off, my full attention, both guarantees in writing. In return, once the site is live and bringing in work, you give me an honest review. If it doesn't work, you say that instead.
That's the trade. It's a better deal for you than it is for me, and it's how a new business earns a track record without lying about having one.
A website is not a brochure and it's not a piece of art. It's a salesperson that works while you're under a house. It has one job: turn someone who's never heard of you into someone who calls you.
Which means the things that matter are the unglamorous ones — does it load fast on a phone with two bars, does it say what you do and where, does it look like a real business, is the phone number impossible to miss, does Google know you exist. That's what NZ$1,997 buys. Not a redesign of your logo.
WFT runs out of Wellington and builds for trade businesses anywhere in Aotearoa — Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton, Tauranga, Dunedin and everywhere in between. The work is done remotely, which is why a sparkie in Invercargill gets the same seven days as one in Thorndon.
