The signs you've got a blockage — not just a slow drain

A slow sink is annoying. These mean the problem is already downstream and getting worse:

• Gurgling from the sink or shower when the toilet flushes — air being forced back through the traps.
• Water backing up in the lowest drain in the house, usually the shower.
• A gully trap outside overflowing onto the lawn.
• More than one fixture slow at the same time — that's the main drain, not the plughole.

What we actually do

We start with the drain machine (the "electric eel") at the nearest access point. If the blockage won't shift or keeps coming back, a CCTV drain camera finds the cause — usually tree roots, a bellied pipe, or decades of fat. You see the footage yourself; nobody's asking you to take our word for what's down there.

Before we arrive

Stop running water into the blocked line. If sewage is backing up indoors, keep everyone off the wet area and shut lids. Don't pour caustic drain cleaner in — it doesn't clear main-line blockages and it makes the pipe dangerous for whoever opens it.
